Meet the Breeder
My aim is to breed happy, healthy, loving dogs - whether you're looking for a working dog, a show dog or a family pet.
At 18 years old I bought first Great Dane and I have never looked back!
After owning Great Danes for a number of years I decided it was time to enter the show ring. I contacted Sheena Booth, from Roucandane Great Danes, and bought my first show puppy Roucandane Viva La Diva at Kemanilo better known as Diva. I set about very enthusiastically attending shows all over the country, however, Diva had other ideas. Diva much preferred lounging around our family home, having cuddles from my children, to the madness of busy dog shows.
Not put off by this I brought home Bruin, Roucandane Total Tottie at Kemanilo, and enjoyed travelling up and down the country doing very well in the show ring up until an unfortunate tail injury that resulted in its amputation.
I chose to breed Bruin with Ch Arondyke Absent Minded , and kept both a bitch and a dog from that litter; Petal, Kemanilo Mind Games, and Freud Kemanilo All in the Mind.
Our Chocolate Lab journey is much more conventional. We got our first when my eldest daughter was a toddler, her name was Tilly, and I have had a lab at my heel ever since. I bought Yarrowmarker Gemini, Bree, from Kerren Rodgers, from Yarrowmarker Gundogs, and started breeding from there. From Bree's first litter I kept a bitch named Floss, Kemanilo Mrs. Peacock, who I have since had a litter from, and from Bree's third litter my daughter has kept a dog named Ted, Kemanilo Star Trooper.
